Our new sectional and love seat

For the past couple of months Cody and I have been browsing for different household items that we will need in our new house.  We have been looking at tvs, fridges, washers and dryers, and of course, couches.  In the past week or two Cody and I have been to numerous furniture stores... I feel like it's all we've been doing, because we've been going from store to store trying to find the perfect sectional.  I really wanted a sectional couch that had a chase (I will show you what a chase is below).  Cody wanted a leather sectional that reclined.  So our criteria for our couch was mainly that it was very comfortable, came with a chase, that it reclined,  and preferably we wanted it be leather. First we went to Levin's to see what they had, and all of their sectionals that met our criteria were in the $5,000 range and were not customizable.  And by not customizable, I mean they only came in ugly brown colors that I did not like.  We went to Lazy Boy and they had two options of leather sectionals that had a wide range of color options.  Those were around $4,600...  At this point we were sweating it a little bit, because we really didn't want to spend over $2,000 for a sectional.  So we went to Value City Furniture and found the perfect one!

Ironically the one that we ended up choosing was not a leather sectional.  It was a super comfortable fabric sectional, but it felt so nice we didn't care that it wasn't leather. It went back really deep, which we liked because we lay on our current couch all of the time and watch tv.  Our issue is that our couch doesn't go back very deep, so as we are laying together one of us (usually me) is always hanging off of the couch.  I don't think that we are going to have that issue with this couch.

Here is the chase part of the sectional.  When we went to Las Vegas last year our hotel room had a sectional with a chase, and I absolutely loved it.  It was so comfortable and so nice, I knew that when I bought my next couch that this HAD to be part of it.  I really like this chase, because of how wide it is.  A lot of chases are only big enough for one person, but Cody and I can both lay on this chase together.

There was one thing about a sectional that Cody and I did not like...  We did not like the wedge in between the areas of the couch.  We thought that this area would be a waste and that it wouldn't get used too frequently.  So behind our sectional we noticed a couch and love seat combination that would come in the same fabric as our sectional (this picture shows it in brown, but we ordered it in the same grey fabric as our sectional).  These are two reclining chairs that both rock.  We are not going to have a chair in our living room that goes with this seat, and Cody still wanted to feel like he was sitting in a recliner.  Our sectional didn't have a spot that had two arm rests on it, but adding this piece to our sectional would still give him that feel.  So we decided to get the 3 piece sectional instead of the 6 piece, and then added this love seat onto our sectional...  Plus, if I wanted to sit in a recliner too we won't have to fight over who gets to sit in it, and we wouldn't buy the wedge part of our sectional that we didn't like and didn't think that we would ever use.

In the end, the price of the 3 piece sectional plus the love seat turned out to be just $50 more than the 6 piece sectional.  We basically replaced the parts of the sectional that you see in this picture.  Really all we did was replace the wedge with a reclining chair, because we will still have the console and another reclining chair on the love seat unit.  We were at Value City for about  2 1/2 hours yesterday trying to make this decision, and then getting rung out.  They had a sale going on from 9 pm to 12 pm, and we got home about 11:30.  They had difficulties getting everything run up correctly for us.  The best part was we just put in a price lock on this couch, we aren't actually going to get it until we move into our house.  Which means we are not going to have to move it into our new house. They will deliver it all and set it up for us to North Royalton.  The sectional/love seat combination was right in our target price range including delivery and a 7 year warranty on the fabric.  We were really happy with this sectional, and we thought that we got a really good deal on it.  They say that President's Day and Labor Day are the best times to go furniture shopping, unless of course you can find a place going out of business...  We are super excited about it.  It feels nice to finally start making decisions on what we actually want to go into our house.  Like I said in the beginning we have been looking at appliances and furniture for months getting ideas on what we like, and what kind of price ranges we can expect.  Recently, we went to Home Depot to look at ceiling fans and paint colors... so I'm sure we are going to start picking all of that out soon too!!
