Summer 2023 Fun

Here are some details on the fun that we had during the Summer of 2023.  This Summer we went to Cedar Point almost every other weekend.  Kayla went on her first rollercoaster and water slides.

Our summer started at Cedar Point on opening day!

Happy to be back!

We went with Aunt Becky and Abby on opening day.

On her favorite swing ride.

School bus ride

Twirly ride.

We loved the new eating place the Grand Pavilion.  Their shrimp was SO good.

Kayla loved the shrimp!

Fun new boardwalk area.

We went to the Planetarium with Papa, but Kayla was really nervous about it and she was worried that the planets were going to fall on us.

Afterwards, we went to the nature center.

Fun hopping and playing around.

Don't touch the lava

Kayla went to see her first movie in theaters...  the live action remake of the Little Mermaid.

She was very excited about the popcorn.  She did pretty well in the theaters but fell asleep about half way through.

Hanging out with cousins watching uncle Jacks band perform.

Dancing cousins.

These girls always have so much fun together.

Aunt Sherry with the girls.

Abby and Charolette.

We went to the zoo with Gigi to see the Princess Soiree.

Getting ready to see the princesses.

Maia and TT were with us too.

Fun watching the show.

Afterwards, we got to meet all 15 characters which was so neat.

We had a nice time at the show and then a good time going around the zoo.

Girl pic!

The girls FAVORITE animal was the beaver at the wolf exhibit.

He was right at their heigh and swimming around in the water and they thought he was GREAT.

They were all about watching and chasing after him.

Beaver on the move.

There he is!

They loved him!

Traditional picture outside of the wolf area.

Brave girls with the wolf.

Over Juneteenth we've been going back to Hancock and we've made it to Krista's birthday parties the past couple of years.

At Nana's house!

Nana, Neil, Aunt TT, and Uncle Ted.

I love this picture!  Kayla adores Davey!  They came to our house this year for Uncle John's 80th birthday party and he played with Kayla a lot... so now she adores him.

Dancing with Kelsie.

Silly girls copying each other.

Back to Nana's house.

We spent so much time at Cedar Point this summer.  We went about twice a month.

Kayla and Maia owning the park together.

Kayla love this little ride.

My silly carousel girl.  She was starting to not be as excited about the carousel this year, but she did like making funny faces.

Silly girl!

Kayla loved the shrimp from the Grand Pavillion which was new this year.

Scrambler with Sam.

Scrambler with TT and Maia.

Snoopy dance party!

Follow the leader... Follow the leader.

She was SO excited to get to meet Snoopy.

Cheese!

This is another ride she really liked.

Happy girls!

We went on the river cruise ride, and Kayla really liked it.

Kayla is TT's girl.  She will totally pick Hannah over me, and loves going to her.

In June we went strawberry picking with Dad.  We went about a week or so late, because most of the big strawberries were gone already.  If we go again, I'd go earlier in the season.

The strawberries were yummy to eat out of the field, but when we got them home they went bad really quickly.

Trying to find the perfect berries.

Picking in the fields.

Kayla wasn't feeling the photo ops.

Dad and I.

We went to Cracker Barrel afterwards for lunch.

Kayla was in a big Blue Clues kick around this time, and she found Blue at Cracker Barrel... so of course I had to get it for her, and she adored that puppy.

Playing at the Dairy Grove.

Papa pushing Kayla on the swing.

North Ridgeville splashpad fun.

We went to the Art of Disney Animation with mom for her June date.

Group photo.

Getting to go in.

Mickey Mouse!

The inside was a huge wrap around TV... almost like an IMAX.

Different Disney movie scense would pop up.

This is the Little Mermaid one.

The lanterns from Tangled.

Kayla was trying to catch the lanterns.

It was a really neat produciton.

Cuddling with Gigi

Encanto!

They also had fun frozen bubbles too.

The Disney Vault.

Kayla loves her Dumbo!

We introduced Sarah to Jurassic Mountain.

Happy 4th of July!  She is so stinking cute!

My posing sweet heart.

Peace!

4th of July party at Aunt Becky's.  The slip and slide didn't go over great with the girls.

They tried, but it didn't work good.

They loved the splashpad though.

Lunch

Swimming in the pool.

These girls play together so well.

Playing with daddy.

They love playing with him.

Getting Uncle Bobby now.

Fun fun!

Next we were off of Myrtle Beach for vacation.  We had so much fun swimming in the pool.  Kayla loved getting to jump into the pool and swim with her floaties on.

It was so fun to vacation with Aunt Sissy and fam!  Kayla loved getting to go in the golf cart.

Turns out that none of us are really beach people haha.  Kayla was afraid of the ocean, and the sand was so hot.  So we weren't really at the beach very much.

We had fun at the Ripley Aquarium.

More fun swimming at our resort.

Kayla loved getting to feed the turtles.

Mommy and Kayla.

Begging for more french fries to feed the turtles.  Who can say no to that look??

Swimming with daddy.

Another beach shot.

Cousins!  Such fun memories getting to travel with them.  It really as a once in a lifetime trip for us, because they won't be staying at the resort next to the place that we can get with Global in future years.

Memorial park with Ana.

Playing on the swings.

Both girls were nervous of the new splashpad, but I goofed around with them and they ran around in it.

They ended up loving it.

Being silly of the water.

They went from wanting to avoid the water to wanting to stand right in it.

Water spraying up.

Goofing around

Ahh water's getting us!

Ana!

Who gets the turn?

The Asian Lantern Festival was beautiful this year!  It is my favorite zoo activity.

Hiding Jose haha

During our vacation, we got a happy meal with Wade from Elemental and Kayla loved playing with it so we went to see it in theaters with Papa.

Red Lobster lobster tank

Happy birthday papa!

We went to Cedar Shore's for the first time.

Nana came with us too.

We were a big group that day.

Kayla loved the water slide area.

The girls had lots of fun together.

All 3 kiddos!

Group shot!

The kiddos.  Love it when they get time together.  We all tried to go at least once a month to Cedar Point and/or the water park so that we could all spend time together.

The 3 Amigas.

I love times when we all get together because it is so rare.

We went to the Majestic Meadows Alpaca Farm with Gigi for her July Date.

Kayla wasn't 100% with the animals, but she did like the baby ones.

Baby alpacas.

Petting animals with gigi

Kayla was a little bit nervous with the goats....

And I guess for good reason, because they are rascals!  I was cracking up when this goat got mom.  I saw it going for her so I was able to snap the picture...  it was pretty hilarious.

The day we went there were princesses at the farm!

Getting to talk with Cinderella.

Picture!

Picture of all of us.

Ariel was also there.

These are Kayla's two favorite princesses right now.

Picture with Ariel.

Gigi and Kayla.

More Kayla and Gigi.

The 3 of us.

A big development this year was Kayla liking to ride rollercoasters at Cedar Point.  Her friend Sarah wanted to go on it, and my brave little Kayla wanted to go on too.

She LOVED it!  The rollercoasters ended up being her favorite.

She is not a fan of the bumper cars though.  She just doesn't like them, and gets upset when she gets hit.

Yummy food!

Snoopy dance party!

She got so into it!  I loved going to this show.  It was so cute.

Such a great time at Cedar Point!

Sarah's dad got cut off in this picture, but we were all there that day.

They got their pilot licenses.  Kayla used it at home all the time as a ticket to get onto her homemade plane on our basement stairs.

So much fun!

Kayla also started to like mini power tower ride his year.  In the past she was too scared to go on it, but now she loves it.

Best ride ever!

Cuyahoga County Fair with Abby, Aunt Becky, and Gigi.  My mom won us all free tickets.

Air plane ride.

Kayla LOVED fun houses!  I almost couldn't get her out of them.

She kept running back in line over and over again.

She also liked the dino fair coaster.

This girl just has pure joy riding rides.

Storms started rolling in so we ran into the animal barns.  We got to see these super cute piggies.

They were so stinking cute!

This was at the end of the night trying to hold off the rain.

It was storming/raining so hard that they actually decided to shutdown the fair.  This actually worked out great for us, because we had already gotten a full day there basically and had tickets and ride wristbands to come back the next day.

The fair is only a couple minutes away from where we go to gymnastics... so after gymnastics we went for a couple hours with Sarah.  It was supposed to rain that afternoon so hardly anyone was there.  Which was great because we got to walk onto all the rides.  This is on the Ferris wheel.

Silly mirror maze.

On the dino coaster.

They loved it.

Back to the fun house.

We got on so many rides.  The rain kept pushing out.

Fun times!

The girls love each other.  So happy that Kayla has a little best friend.

Riding Dumbo!

Kayla loves this ride.

There we are.

With Sarah we did half water park/half Cedar Point days.  I really liked this setup, because it felt like the best of both worlds.

Charcaters!

The line to get on this roller coaster is really long for adults because only 4 adults can get on per car, and most kids go on with their parents.  I made the suggestions that maybe in the future they can just ride together and they were like YES!!!  So there they are big girls riding together.

So silly.

Fun times!

My duck loving baby hiding a duck on our Oasis of the Seas cruise.

We had an aquasuite on this cruise and it was AMAZING.  I loved getting to watch the aqau show and seeing the ocean.  Our balcony was incredible.

At the Aquashow!  Kayla loved this show and wanted to watch it over and over again.

She LOVED finding ducks and was constantly on the hunt for them.

Hehe!!  She thought she was so funny putting her ducks on daddy while he was napping.

She LOVED the ice skating show.  She had so much fun at the shows.

Working hard for her ducks!

Our cruise was the perfect way to close out our summer.  We had a great summer and were FULL of activities and things to do.  We definitely kept busy.
