We went out to visit the house today. Our laminate flooring was just about all the way in. I had a heart attack when I saw it, because the guys that put it in had walked all over it. You can see how dusty and dirty it is in this picture. You almost can't even tell what color the flooring is. Once it is cleaned you will be able to tell that it is a dark wood. It's even darker than our cabinets... which are also dusty and dirty. You can really tell the difference between the island and the cabinets up high on the wall. We were excited to see the flooring next to our cabinets. It was another thing that we picked out with little samples, and we hoped that they all really went well together.
Our morning room with all of the flooring in.
The guys were actually still there working on our house when we stopped in today. We left around 6 and they were still working hard.
You can see the worker cutting everything in this picture. Our living room is a real mess right now. You can see the carpet padding in the corner. The floor itself is a lot cleaner than it was before. I can tell that they cleaned it a lot so that they can put the carpet down.
I love the island! I'm so glad that Tim got us a nice piece of granite. I thought that it looked great in the kitchen. Cody and I were happy to see all of the brown colors that are in the granite. I know it's hard to make it out in the pictures. I can't wait until it is all cleaned off and shining.
All of our shelving was in for our closets and the pantry. You can see that we have 4 racks of shelves in the pantry. It will be great for storage. Also, the bottom rack is high enough for us to put a lot of things below it... like a step for me! I'm still not 100% positive where I'm going to store my vacuum yet.
Our sinks are in throughout the house. Also they finished up the granite in the kitchen. I love the big piece that leads out into the morning room.
Here you can see it from the morning room perspective. According to the date on the stick, they just put that piece of the granite in today.
Here is our powder room sink on the first floor. The toilet was not in this room yet. It is the only toilet that still needs to be installed in the house. All of the other toilets were installed.
This is our powder room in the basement. You can see that the toilet and towel rack is in.
Here are the carpet pads for the basement.
They replaced our old window that didn't fit correctly into the wall with a new one. This one looks like it fits and closes properly.
The old one was in our garage. Our garage was a complete wreck today!!
Cody is investigating what this little tank is. We weren't sure what it is for.
There was an odd dark spot in our basement. I was wondering if they used water to clean this spot? It was odd that it was a different color than the rest of the basement.
You can see that the padding was done in our master bedroom. They were working on the padding for all of the other rooms while we were there. There were four guys working in different areas of the house. One of the workers looked like he was a 13 year old kid. They sure did have their Mexican music blaring throughout the house!
Our shower door and shower heads were installed. I like the shower a lot more now that it has the doors on it.
I tried to peek into my closets to look at them, but you can see that there was a guy working in there. He was trying to get the carpet pad down, so I was trying not to disturb him too much.
This is our toilet in the master bath. Cody was excited that the toilet paper holders came included with the house. At least that's one less thing that we have to buy.
You can see our toilet in the second floor bathroom.
The card board had been removed from the office doors so you can see what the door will look like. It was an exciting trip to the house today!! A lot of things had changed since our last visit on Wednesday! It's crazy how quick things are moving now. All of our sinks are in, and we only have one more toilet that needs to be installed. I'm sure that our carpet is going to be done in the next couple of days, if they didn't stay tonight to finish it up... After that our appliances will be installed, and then I think they should be pretty close to being done on our house. It sure does seem like they are leaving a lot of time in their plan to do touch ups and fix things throughout the house. We have 13 more days to go until we close! We are going to be going to Home Depot tomorrow to look at some paint options!!
