Katelynn and Shawn's Wedding

Another blog that is long over due!  Here sre the details on Shawn and Katelynn's wedding shower and wedding!

Aunt Sherry did it again!  Another beautiful wedding shower.  She had the shower at the same place as Jacqueline's wedding shower.

The tables were beautifully decorated.  Each table had a center piece and a favor for everyone that attended. I loved that she used pictures of them for the table center piece. The food was really good at the shower too.  My aunt Becky made these little deserts that were extremely good!!

Here was the entry table that showed Katelynn and Shawn over the years.

All of the presents!  Katelynn is such a good present opener!  She gets so excited for every present.

We all played games and had a nice time.  I think Katelynn and Shawn got a lot of nice things at their shower.  Overall it was a really nice time.

Now onto the actual wedding day!  Shawn and Katelynn got married on July 19th 2014.  As usual I took waaay too many pictures, but I just can't help myself!!  I love taking pictures and being able to document big events like this.  Plus now my blog will have all kinds of awesome pictures and details as usual!

First we started at the church.  This was Katelynn's church that she has been going to in Avon.  Beautiful church and it was really nice because the pastor knew her and was able to tell stories about her during the ceremony.

Here are some pictures before the wedding.  Aunt Becky and grandma

Shawn's reaction when he saw Katelynn coming down the aisle!  So cute!

Start of the ceremony.

I think that this was my favorite picture of the night.

After lighting their unity candle.

They had their friends play a song and sing during the wedding.

During the song.

After the song was over.  They are so photogenic!  You can really see how beautiful Katelynn's dress was in the picture.  I'm so glad that it came in on time!

The kiss!

Something that I really liked was that Shawn and Katelynn walked out of the room, and then they came back in and hugged/thanked every person that came to the wedding.  I thought that this was a great idea because they were able to say hi and thank everyone for coming.

The happy couple!  The gave us lavender seeds to throw at them.  Of course my Uncle Johnny dumped his whole container down my dad's shirt.  Katelynn's dress had a lot of lace on it so the seeds got stuck all over her dress.  Not to worry though the bridal party helped her get it off of her dress.  And it did smell really good.

At the reception hall.  Dad and Aunt Evelyn...who came to the wedding all the way from TN!

The photo lover in me loved that they figured out a way to get people to share their pictures with them.  I am trying to figure out the best way to do this for our wedding still.  I'm looking at different apps and ideas.

Shawn and Katelynn walking into the hall.

Here are some details of the wedding.  They had 3 different center pieces at the wedding.  This was the one on our table.

Each table was named for a place that was special to both Katelynn and Shawn.  I thought this was a really cute idea.

This was the cake table. It was very pretty.  As a matter of fact the hall itself was very pretty, and even the people that owned the place said that they had never seen it look so beautiful and they were even taking pictures for their portfolio because they liked it so much.

The card box area.  All of the guys came into the hall earlier in the day and decorated it while the girls were getting ready.  So the first time that Katelynn saw everything all together was when she walked in.

A different angle.

Cutting the cake!  They were nice to each other and did not smash the cake in each other's face.

They had an unique game that they played at the beginning of the wedding.  The DJ sat them down and asked them questions and they each had one of each other's shoes.

When he asked a question they both raised the shoe of the person that they thought it applied to the most.  It was a pretty comical game.

The first dance.

Mother and son dance.

Uncle Jack sang the song that they danced to.

Aunt Katelynn with her niece.

The Bally boys and their usual serenading of the bride.  They did this at Matthew, Aaron, and now Shawn's wedding.

Shawn's solo.

Katelynn watching them perform.

The funniest part of the wedding occurred after the Bally boys performance.  Their performance was pretty predictable... everyone knew that it was coming... but what happened afterwards we had no idea.  At the end of their song, the song cut and the best man said "Hold up" and the guys broke into a flash mob to the Backstreet Boys song Everybody.  It was absolutely hilarious!  I was in tears watching it.  Unfortunately my camera died during the Bally boys performance so I didn't get any pictures of it.  This was the only picture I could find of it by Facebook stalking.

But no fear, I ended up grabbing Cody's phone to take some more pictures with for the rest of the wedding.  :)  Here is Shawn getting the garter.

Katelynn getting ready to throw the bouquet.

All the single ladies getting ready to catch it.  One of Katelynn's friends ended up catching it.

Here is Shawn getting ready to throw the garter.  He actually looked like he was going to random throw it up, but when he actually threw it he aimed it at the guy who's girlfriend caught it earlier.

Here is Shawn coaching him on how to put the garter on her.

There they go!

Dollar Dance time!  I can't BELIEVE how much taller Shawn is than me!  He's like a whole foot taller than me.  I was looking up at him, and I was thinking holy crap am I short!

Love this picture of dad and Katelynn!

Uncle Johnny and his cowboy hat haha.

Here is another one of my favorite pictures from the night.

Another adorable picture.  You can just barely notice Jacqueline's baby bump!  We should be seeing a new little boy any day now.

These last three pictures I borrowed from Shawn and Katelynn's Facebook profiles.  Love this picture of all of the guys at Aunt Sherry's house.  Now that I look through these pictures I realize what a huge wedding party they had.

All of the beautiful ladies.  I really like that Katelynn asked Robyn and Jacqueline to be in the wedding too.  She's such a sweet heart!

The wedding was a really fun night, and I think that most people stayed the entire night.  It seemed like the night went by really fast.  So happy for them.  I wish them years and years of happiness.

Kelsie's 8th Birthday

Over the 4th of July weekend we were able to go to Kelsie's 8th birthday party.  She had a pool party at Deb's house.

Here is her Frozen inspired birthday cat.

Opening up some presents.

She is such a good present opener.  She gets so excited with every present that she gets.

Hugging her doll chair.

Davey and his best friend Wyatt.  At the party I kept trying to get a good picture of them.  Wyatt is Krista's best friend's son, and the boys have all the same interests as each other.  I have a feeling 20 years from now they are going to like seeing these pictures of when they were young.

Kelsie and all of her friends getting ready to jump into the pool.

 The kids swimming around.

This birthday party was different from last years family party but I think all of the kids had a lot of fun swimming and it was a really nice day out.  Happy 8th Birthday Kelsie!

Easter 2014

I know that this blog is loooong over due!  Shame on me for not blogging for so long.  Here is my post on Easter 2014!  This was our first Easter in our house.  Last year we moved in right after Easter.

Over Easter weekend Cody's family came to visit us.  Here he is with his mom, sister, and our niece and nephew.

Here we are with his mom.

Here are the girls.

Our family photo!  Had to get a picture with us and our boys.

My mom and dad came over to have Easter dinner with us too.

Grandma and mom enjoying dinner.

We were working on trying to socialize Dex more.  He is starting to a do a little bit better around people.  I think it helped that everyone stayed for a couple of days, because he started getting more used to everyone.

Mom and her grand cats!

Grandma snuggling with Dex.  She loves holding animals.

After dinner Cody, Dad, and Davey were playing.  It was fun to watch dad try to play with a little kid.

 Everyone playing and having fun.

After a little while it was time to color Easter eggs!

 Davey coloring eggs.

 Kelsie coloring her eggs.

The finished product!  Unfortunately they had to drive home on Easter day so they didn't get to enjoy too many of their eggs.  Cody doesn't eat boiled eggs, so I had plenty of them to eat for a while!

Here are the kids on Easter morning.  They were up bright and early on Easter morning.  The Easter bunny left them a note.

The note told them to find their Easter baskets and that the Easter bunny had hide Easter eggs over the house for them to find.  The Easter bunny told them which colored eggs were Kelsie's (pink, purple, and orange) and which ones were Davey's (blue, green, and yellow).

 Excited to start the hunt!

Here is Kelsie looking at the Easter eggs that she found.  Some of the Easter eggs had different candies in them and some had money in them.

Here is Kelsie helping her little brother find his eggs.  It seemed like the Easter bunny hide Kelsie's eggs harder than Davey's but she was still able to find her eggs faster than him.  She was a helpful big sister and pointed out where some of his were for him.

Here is Davey looking at his eggs.

Both of the kid's Easter baskets ended up being downstairs.  They found Kelsie's basket first in the room below the morning room.

They found Davey's basket in the media room.  You can see inspector Cosmo checking out what was going on.  This was the first time that he was around kids, and I was interested in how he would respond to them.  He did great!  He loved the kids... even when they were running around and being loud he was chasing around with them.

Here is Davey checking out what is inside his Easter basket.  And you can see Cosmo in the background.  Every time the kids had something on the floor he started to investigate/play with it.

Kelsie excited with the stuff she found in her basket.

Davey excited to see that he got the "Planes" Disney movie.

Kelsie showing off the items in here basket.

The kids playing with their new toys.

Cosmo getting in trouble.  He was trying to eat the "grass" in the Easter baskets!!  Darn cat!  I had to pick all of that up really quick so that he couldn't get into it.

My living room after the Easter baskets were emptied out haha!!  I was so happy that Cody's sister and the kids came for Easter.  Easter was soooo much more fun with the kids.  We loved watching them hunt for their eggs and open up their Easter baskets.  I hope that they are able to come out for more holidays.

Over Easter Cosmo discovered his favorite toy of all time...  an Easter egg!  When the kids had their Easter eggs out Cosmo got one and started chasing it around like a crazy cat.

Here they both are playing with the egg.  Now it's October and Cosmo still has eggs all around our house that he chases on a daily basis.  I think that he likes the way that it moves around.  He breaks them in half and chases them.

Christmas 2025

Kayla was sooo excited for our countdown to Christmas this year.  The day after Thanksgiving, she said yay Christmas starts today!  And I fe...
